We had the same reaction too, do not worry. What is Vietnamese iced coffee? And why is it one of the number one hits on google? What makes it so popular? Well, Vietnamese iced coffee is basically brewed coffee that is poured over the ice cubes, but then you add sweetened condensed milk to it. In Vietnam, there is a special French drip filter that makes it convenient for individual brewing, as well as layering all of the ingredients together. So while many of us do not have a French drip filter brewing type gizmo on our kitchen counter, we can use the same ingredients to make a delicious Vietnamese iced coffee.

What you will need:

(This recipe makes two iced coffees!)

• 2 cups water

• 1/4 cup dark roast ground coffee beans

• 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) sweetened condensed milk

• 8 ice cubes

Directions:

• Brew your coffee however you like it best!

• Take two tablespoons of the sweetened condensed milk and add it to one of the coffees, and do the same with the other.

• With each serving of the condensed milk and coffee mixture, put four ice cubes in a separate glass. To get a more Vietnamese feel to it, you give the guest the coffee mixture and the glass of ice. They then pour the hot coffee and milk over the ice and stir it with a long spoon. This will give the coffee the perfect chilled temperature!
